About
First Five is a 6yo brown gelding trained by David Greene in Te Rapa. He is by Almanzor out of Payette. With a Group One win and $711,323 in career earnings, he is regarded as an elite racehorse. On 3 Jan 2026 at Trentham, jockey Wiremu Pinn rode First Five to his most important victory, taking the $550,000 Open Weight‑For‑Age and beating Navigator. He has consistently proved profitable for bettors; a career‑long backing would have returned 221% on investment.
