Casterton Racing Track

Casterton Racecourse is located in the historic Glenelg Shire of western Victoria, around 41km from the Victorian–South Australian border. Set among rolling green hills, the venue offers a relaxed, community-focused picnic atmosphere where racegoers of all ages can enjoy the day.

The Glenelg River runs alongside the track’s 1,640m circuit, creating some of the most picturesque scenery in Australian racing. Casterton Racecourse is unique in being the only track in the country to stage steeplechase races featuring live hedge obstacles.

Whether drawn by the traditional steeplechasing or the festive race day experience, crowds turn out in strong numbers for key meetings such as the Casterton Cup and the Heywood Cup race days.
