Cranbourne Racing Track

Cranbourne Racecourse is located approximately 44km south-east of Melbourne and is widely recognised as Victoria’s premier venue for Friday night racing. The track has a circumference of 1,700m and presents a demanding test for staying horses, with the final 600m rising uphill around the turn and through the 300m home straight.

Set within the peaceful surrounds of one of Victoria’s fastest-growing municipalities, Cranbourne delivers exciting racing on the track alongside high-quality entertainment off it. The venue offers a variety of function rooms and catering options to suit different tastes and budgets, as well as expansive lawn areas ideal for relaxed picnic-style race days. Owners with runners engaged are well catered for, with access to a fully refurbished owners’ and trainers’ lounge.

Cranbourne is also home to the largest training complex in the southern hemisphere, a world-class facility that produced 12 Group 1 winners in 2022. The track’s feature event is the Cranbourne Cup, a Listed 1600m handicap held as a standalone metropolitan meeting each November.
