Dunkeld Racing Track

Dunkeld Racecourse is set at the base of the spectacular Grampians, drawing many racegoers who make the 283km journey from Melbourne to enjoy a truly authentic country racing experience. The venue has no permanent grandstands or seating and does not even have a permanent power supply.

What makes racing at Dunkeld so special is that everything apart from the track itself is created from the ground up for each meeting. This traditional, country-style setup is a major attraction and sees thousands of visitors gather at the course during the Spring Racing Carnival to take part in long-standing race day festivities. Overlooking the track is the breathtaking Mount Abrupt, providing a striking and unforgettable natural backdrop.
