Info
Geelong Racecourse is located about 75km south-west of Melbourne and is easily accessible by train, with the station situated right beside the venue. Within the course proper sits the Geelong Synthetic Racecourse, an all-weather circuit that was introduced in 2007.
The synthetic track has a maximum circuit distance of 1,858m and features a 332m home straight. The rail remains permanently in the true position, and fields are limited to a maximum of 12 runners. With a layout similar to the main track but on a smaller scale, the synthetic circuit provides horses with a solid opportunity to perform well regardless of their barrier draw.
