Hobart Inside Track Racing Track

Hobart Racecourse, also known as Elwick Racecourse, is located about 10km from Hobart’s CBD in Glenorchy and overlooks the scenic waters of Elwick Bay. The venue is unique in offering uninterrupted 360-degree views of well-known local landmarks, including Mount Wellington and the Derwent River.

Given Tasmania’s frequently wet weather conditions, an all-weather track was constructed within the racecourse complex. This secondary circuit has a maximum distance of 1,890m and features a gentle uphill section before runners reach the final turn and charge down the 280m home straight, passing the historic members’ pavilion on the way to the finish.
