Penola Racing Track

Penola Racecourse is located in the heart of the renowned Coonawarra Wine Region, approximately 388km south-east of Adelaide’s CBD. Its setting provides racegoers with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, complemented by modern facilities and high-quality food and wine offerings that reflect the region’s reputation.

The track has a circumference of 1,835m and features a 280m home straight. Its rounded layout means races over 1200m and beyond require runners to negotiate at least two turns, making barrier position an important factor.

The Penola Cup, typically held in the first week of April, is the premier meeting on the calendar. This feature event allows locals to showcase the venue with a wide range of race day activities that cater to all types of race fans.
