Info
Port Lincoln Racecourse is located on the picturesque shores of Boston Bay in the coastal town of Port Lincoln, often referred to as the “Seafood Capital of Australia”. Around 655km from Adelaide, the region is a favourite with both locals and visitors thanks to its relaxed beaches, and the racecourse reflects that same easygoing atmosphere on race day.
The track has a distinctive, egg-shaped layout with a circumference of 1,550m. Its numerous bends limit the home straight to just 280m, meaning inside barriers can be especially important in sprint races.
Port Lincoln Racecourse is also regarded as an excellent proving ground for trainers developing young thoroughbreds, with many horses beginning their careers here before progressing to metropolitan racing in South Australia.
