The Sunshine Coast Turf Club is proud to operate one of the country’s leading racing facilities, with the Sunshine Coast Racecourse located about 89km north of Brisbane in one of Australia’s most popular tourist regions. Known for its golden beaches and relaxed lifestyle, the Sunshine Coast also delivers an enjoyable and high-quality racing experience.
The venue features a synthetic cushion track, the first of its kind introduced in Queensland. This surface was installed to allow racing to continue when the main grass track required maintenance or recovery time. Positioned inside the turf course, the cushion track is narrower, measuring 18m in width.
The circuit has a maximum distance of 1,760m and includes a lengthy 400m home straight. The racecourse also hosts night meetings, made possible by nearly 1,000 lights installed around the track, adding an extra level of excitement to the racing program.
