Tatura Racing Track

Tatura Racecourse is located about 182km from Melbourne’s CBD, just a few kilometres outside the Greater City of Shepparton, within the surrounds of the Cussen Park Wetlands. The area is rich in history, including nearby sites that once housed World War II prisoner-of-war camps.

The racecourse itself also has a long history, dating back to 1881 when the region was first settled. The track layout is well suited to sprinters, with a 1,600m circuit that flows smoothly before leading into a relatively short 220m home straight.

Tatura Racecourse is a popular gathering place for families and friends, offering a crisp country atmosphere where racegoers enjoy both the social setting and the challenge of picking a winner. Picnics and marquees line the straight on Italian Plate Day and Tatura Cup Day, the two standout meetings on the local racing calendar.
