Walcha Racecourse is located approximately 415km north of Sydney within the primary production region of the Walcha district.
The track can be a demanding test for runners, with its relatively narrow layout and compact 1,400m circumference.
Each year, the Walcha Race Club hosts a popular two-day carnival early in the season, drawing strong support from surrounding communities. Racegoers often arrive with picnic baskets and settle along the grassed areas beside the 300m home straight, hoping to cheer home a winner while enjoying a relaxed country race day atmosphere.
