About
General Salute, a 6yo chestnut gelding from Australia, is trained by Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou. He is by Russian Revolution out of Star Salute. As a stakes winner with $1,060,100 in earnings, he is regarded as having above‑average ability. On 19 Sep 2026 at Randwick, ridden by Tim Clark, he claimed his most important win in the $250,000 Bill Ritchie Handicap, defeating Matcha Latte. He has proved a profitable choice for bettors; backing him throughout his career would have produced a 62% return on investment.
