Located an hour and a half's drive south of Darwin on the Stuart Highway is the shady hideaway racecourse of Adelaide River. Plenty of race day activities and facilities are on offer on the beautiful grounds of the Adelaide Racecourse.The course has a maximum distance of 1700m and most often runs races with a distance of 1000m, making it a track more suited to fast sprinters.A concert and traditional 'two-up' usually follows the days racing action which is full of local thoroughbreds, fashions and children's activities. You can even camp on the grounds that night and enjoy a feed of the renowned Adelaide River barramundi.
