The Gilgandra Racecourse is located 456kms north-west of Sydney in central west New South Wales.The course is surrounded by a district rich in cultural heritage and brimming with agricultural activities. The locals affectionately know Gilgandra as the 'Town of Windmills' from a time when residents had a multitude of windmills erected throughout the area.Course proper has a modest 1663m circumference and although the finishing straight is only 160m in length, it gives competitors one final test with its slight incline to the finishing post.The course facilities are in line with some of the best in the state and offer punters plenty of betting, food and beverage areas to complete an enjoyable day at the races.
