The Hobart Racecourse, also known as Elwick Racecourse is found 10kms from the Hobart CBD in Glenorchy overlooking the dazzling Elwick Bay. The facility is set apart from most with its 360 degree views of local landmarks including Mt. Wellington and the Derwent River.With the weather in the Tasmanian region quite often wet, there became a need for an all-weather course and this was built inside the currentHobart Racecourse. The all-weather course has an 1890m maximum distance and takes competitors on a slight uphill run before they engage the final bend and make their way down the 280m home straight past the classic member's pavilion.
