The Sapphire Coast Race club presents punters and race fans a large country style race course which is 3 hours from Canberra, and only kilometres from the South Coast beaches. Engulfed in stunning bush scenery, course proper boasts a huge 2000m circumference with banked turns and an all round width of 30m making sure no horse is ever without space. Spectators get an uninterrupted view of the thoroughbreds from the banked hills which line the 400m long straight. Picnics are the popular theme at the Sapphire Coast Racecourse and never more so than on Bega Cup day which is traditionally held on the first Sunday in February.
