The Wellington Racecourse sits near the winding Bell River not far from the famous Wellington caves and Lake Burrendong.The 1440m course is set amongst rolling bushland hills and mountain ranges. It gives competitors a friendly downhill run from the final turn to the finishing post some 400m away.The Wellington Racecourse is renowned for its major annual event 'The Wellington Boot', an 1100m race for 2 year olds that attracts a lot of attention.
